Fall 2009: Come Let Us Sing

Our fall concert explored both sacred and secular song throughout the centuries. We began with great antiphonal works for choir & brass by Gabrieli, Schütz, and Handl and moved through French art songs by Debussy and Hindemith, contemporary songs from David Dickau, Robert H Young, and Eric Barnum. Our concert concluded with a varied selection of opera choruses from Verdi, Mascagni, Copland, and more. It was a true sampling of great music from many traditions.

Spring 2009: Life Melodies

Our spring concert features melodies old and new, songs familiar in many traditions around the world, truly life melodies. Included on the concert are German folk melodies collected by Johannes Brahms, the lesser known “I Will Greatly Rejoice” by Maurice Greene, the haunting and intriguing overtones of “Past Life Melodies,” and also new classics by Eric Whitacre, Andre Thomas, and Ward Swingle. There is something for everyone as we wrap up our 30th anniversary season!

Fall 2008: Everlasting Voices

Fall 2008Our 30th season fall concert, entitled Everlasting Voices, is highlighted by a commissioned work of the same title by David DeLyser for chorus, piano, and cello. The concert will also feature a set of world music including the powerful “Horizons,” ethereal cathedral music with Rachmaninoff’s “Ave Maria,” a rare preview of a piece by Colorado composer Timothy Tharaldson, and will culminate with contemporary American vocal jazz and spirituals. We are excited to begin our 30th season. Come join the celebration!!!
